My birth experience was so much harder than I could have ever prepared for.  I expected a gradual onset of contractions and to be able to cope with the pain.  That did not happen.  As I entered 15-hours of back labor, I was at my absolute breaking point when Sandy showed up to my room.  God sent her at the exact time that I was ready to give up.  Sandy immediately took charge and became my guardian angel through each contraction.  She made me feel so loved and safe while I was in the worst pain of my life.  She gave my husband the boost of energy and confidence to help me survive through each contraction.  I have never felt so prioritized and loved.  Sandy held my leg while my husband held my other to help me push my baby out.  I couldn’t have done it without her.  Sandy is a literal gift from God.

Highly recommend Sandy to be your doula! She has a great personality and kept the mood light, yet calm leading up to my delivery. During the delivery, she helped with my positioning alongside the hospital nurses, and gave appropriately timed reminders of breathing techniques when I was overwhelmed. I would hire her again for any future births of mine and recommend to any pregnant friends!

Having a birth doula was something that always intrigued me.  upon being admitted, Sandy stayed for 18 hours she was by my side attending to every need.  Doing stretches, massages, and movements until labor continued progressing.  Then she continued to give massages, coach me through the process and provide support to my husband.  She kept me in a “warrior” headspace and gave me the strength when the pain was insurmountable.  I cannot imagine going through labor without her.  She empowered me and made the experience magical. 

I am so grateful that I met Sandy and hired her as my doula for the birth of my baby girl She made me feel so safe during the whole birth process and was truly such a blessing! Sandy have a very calming presence and energy, she got me in the right headspace every step of the way. Her knowledge, kindness, and witty personality made my birthing process a truly amazing, beautiful, and empowering experience. I only have the best things to say about Sandy, I would love to have her present for my next baby (whenever that will be.) 10/10 communication, 10/10 helpfulness, 10/10 respectful. She is such an incredible person and doula. I absolutely love her!

Sandy stayed with us through everything, helping with the big and little things from getting towels and pillowcases to supporting breast milk expression when my baby was rushed to the NICU.  Her ability to liase with the UCSD team and know where things were and how the hospital worked meant that she created value.  And she worked like a dream team with my nurse, Anna, and my delivery doctor.  I can only describe her as an angel whose help I will be grateful for the rest of my life.  Labor and birth are such an emotional and difficult experience to navigate, particularly for a first-time mom like me.  Offering doula support to laboring women is as valuable as the medical support options to ensuring comfort and making the experience a positive as possible for patients and partners.  My wish is that all first-time mothers have the chance for as besutiful a labor and delivery as I was able to experience.

I was so pleasantly surprised by my doula.  I did not think I needed a doula, but it turned out to be the greatest thing ever!  Sandy was amazing and made me and my husband so comfortable right away.  She was enormously helpful to both of us as we made decisions that felt right for us.  I honestly couldn’t imagine my birth without her there now, and I feel so grateful that I was able to have her there.  I will forever have positive things to say.

Having a doula was such an amazing (and necessary) part of our delivery! We honestly didn’t know how we would have gotten through the whole labor and delivery without Sandy!  She was such an integral part of our experience, from the back massages, to mentally preparing us and guiding us with her words.  She created a safe space for us to have the delivery we had.  Words can’t express how grateful we are to Sandy! She was so wonderful that we definitely want her to be part of our future babies labor and deliveries!  We love Sandy!

Sandy was a literal lifesaver through our birthing experience!  When she entered the room, the entire process became so much more calm and focused.  I felt immediately trusting of Sandy and was so grateful to be in her capable hands.  Hi honestly don’t want to imagine what labor would have been like without Sandy there because she was such an essential part of the process for me.  She was also incredibly helpful for my husband during this process.  She was able to give him a break and allow him to experience the entire birthing process and take it in.  So glad we got to work with Sandy and if we were ever in this process again, we would without a doubt have an amazing doula with us!
